Total Care Services are a Care and Nursing agency based in Merthyr Tydfil and supply our services throughout South Wales to various care settings i.e Nursing, Residential, Mental Health, Hospice’s.

To undertake the role of a Healthcare Assistant within a variety of health and social care placements. To provide service users with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Assistant under the guidance of Registered Nurses and/or Senior Care Assistants, taking responsibility for the physical and emotional wellbeing and social needs of our client’s service users. To provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care to service users.

Main Duties

• Assisting with personal care, washing, dressing and personal grooming. Supporting service users to bathe, shower, use the toilet or commode, with dental hygiene, foot / nail care and hair care. Providing support to assist service users to the toilet or commode and any additional related personal care needs.
• Assisting service users to eat and drink a well-balanced and nutritious diet, by supporting at mealtimes with assistance / encouragement in accordance with service users care plans.
• Assisting service users with mobility, to safely use mobility aids and equipment in a manner that respects the dignity of service users.
• Assisting service users to have access to physical / emotional stimulation and supporting service users to engage in their hobbies and interests.
• Report and record all relevant service user information in accordance with the client’s processes.
• Have an awareness and understanding of relevant legislation, regulation, policies and procedures and the operational guidelines relevant to your role.
